What is Plazm?
A Portland-based multidisciplinary design
collective with an annual art magazine and design studio serving clients
and causes from around the world.
What does Plazm need?
Hard working and self motivated individuals who want to get their feet wet in the world of design and magazine publishing. We are offering:
Design internship with Plazm Design
Hone your skills slaving away for Plazm's creative directors and staff designers. You might help design Plazm Magazine or work on studio assignments for clients like MTV, Lucasfilm, or Nike. Working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, internet savvy required. Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML a plus. If you don't know what we're talking about, this is not the internship for you.
Content development and research at Plazm Magazine/Plazm Books
The person in this position should be adept at research and writing, and have some degree of cultural awareness with respect to media, the arts and politics. In this position you will have a chance to develop content for Plazm Magazine and Plazm Books under editorial direction. Ideal for crossdisciplinarians who do not mind running errands.
Marketing internship with Plazm Media
Spend a season learning what it takes to sell and promote a design firm. Public relations, media liaison, nuts and bolts of ad sales (with commissions!) are all components of this internship. If you are interested in learning more about publishing, arts/design media and are good at selling, we would encourage you to sign on.
What's in it for you?
20 hours per week minimum, with a minimum three month commitment. Hard work. Learn a lot. No pay.
