Looking for a New World

As host of a New York nightclub I had the opportunity to socialize with a group of artists whose determination and ambition to create themselves in a multimedia environment is making a strong, clear statement of how the world should be.

Nina Choi

Young, ambitious and just beginning her career, Nina is full of aspirations. She attends Parsons School of Design in NYC and has an extensive background in both the visual and performing arts. She currently studies photography but is pursuing a career as a DJ, having just returned from a gig in Vienna. Nina considers herself a true artist at heart.

Q: What is your vision of the future?
A: An AT&T commercial (not really that optimistic). Without sounding pompous, I’d like to think I enlighten people as much as I can.
Q: What is your definition of happiness?
A: True happiness is indefinable. Humans never think enough is enough. Even when we are happy we always want more.
Q: Who do you idolize, if anybody?
A: Jesus. He suffered purely for the sake of others.
Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: I don’t like to plan on the future. Every extra moment spent dwelling on the past or planning the future is a moment stolen from the present that you can’t ever replace.
Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: An old soul with a very young mind and an even younger body.
Q: Are you concerned about what people think of you?
A: Yes and no. I’ll do what I can to please people but there is no way I’m going to knock myself out trying to be something I’m not.
Q: Describe a typical day in your life.
A: I don’t ever have typical days!
Q: What are your deepest anxieties?
A: All my deep anxieties are too personal for me to reveal.
Q: Where are you from?
A: The same place everyone else is from, Earth. If you want specifics I’m from Houston.
Q: What do you ultimately see yourself doing?
A: I have an ear for music. Whether it comes from studying it for the better part of my life or something I was born with, it is something that comes very naturally to me. I love to DJ. I know how I feel when the music is pumping and all I want to do is dance. I enjoy making other people feel this way. I play several instruments which helps a lot with the technical aspects of Djing, but producing music is really what I love.
